Can I book a hotel room using someone else's credit card?

I'm going travelling soon and I lost my debit card. There is not enough time to get a new one but I obviously need one to book hostel rooms etc. Is it possible to book a room with someone else's card (my mum's) and then show up at the hostel/hotel with just a passport? Can I book a hotel room using someone else's credit card?
You can book the room w/ her card, thats just to hold the room for you. At the time of check in you can pay with other means, but You may not pay for the room with her card w/o ur mom being present. If you must pay for the room w/ her card, w/o her presence, then the hotel is going to require a credit card authorization from the card owner. The hotel can fax ur mom a credit card authorization form that she must fill out and have her ID and credit card copied onto that form.

I am a hotel front desk clerk. Its actullay a simple process. And you may want to contact the hotel personally and see what their requirements are, if faxing of a credit card authorization form is required you can do that a head of time before check in. to save the hassle at time of check in.Can I book a hotel room using someone else's credit card?
In my experience, you will be able to book the room; however, they will require a credit card (not necessarily the one you used to book) when you sign in. This is in case you use pay per view, long distance, or room service. They require the credit card for overages, in other words.
My parents do that for me ....from time to time. And they let the hotel know that I'll you will be the one checking in to stay there.
No, you will have to present the credit card and passport when checking and they must match.
