Is it possible to rent a hotel room for a month/two for a reduced price closer to that of renting an apartment

Need to know if it is possible to do this because I am buying a house and start working in another city before I will be able to be in the house and need a place to stay for a short period of time without spending a whole loty of moneyIs it possible to rent a hotel room for a month/two for a reduced price closer to that of renting an apartment
I'm staying in one right now. Your situation and mine are identical. They are called ';extended stay hotels.'; Shop around for one in your area. Some charge as much or more than regular hotels. The cheap ones are still more expensive than apartments, but you don't have to sign a lease.

Also check out IRS publications 521 (moving expenses) and 463 (travel, entertainment, gift, and car expenses). Depending upon your circumstances, some or all of your expenses may be deductible from your taxes. A little planning beforehand can save you thousands of dollars. Is it possible to rent a hotel room for a month/two for a reduced price closer to that of renting an apartment
Yeah, I have seen a lot of places that do weekly and monthly rentals. You would be suprised at the amount of people living in hotel/motels.
Yes. See the General Manager directly. Bring with you a resume, work acceptance letter, credit reference and a down payment. The hotel will be glad to do this and you may want to work out a reduced housekeeping schedule say weekly/biweekly.
Yes it is. Many hotels are glad to rent a room to a steady person for a month or so.
Searce to see if ';Extend A Stay'; is in the area your moving to. Or just search extended stay hotels. Amerisuites!
You can try a hotel. imagine not having to clean to even make your own bed for a couple of months. =)

You might also try Craiglist.com or backpage.com for short term rental apartments. You might be able to find something to cover you for the time you need it.
