What are hotel rooms like in Florence, Italy?

I am a student planning on taking a trip to Italy over Christmas break to visit my boyfriend, and I am trying to find a good place to stay that is somewhat cheap. I would just stay with my boyfriend, but he has two roommates and I don't want to inconvenience them. I would also like to have some quality alone time with him. I've heard, though, that especially in the kinds of hotels I would be looking for (economically priced), the rooms and beds in Italian hotels can be rather small. I was just wondering if anyone had any input or suggestions for me.What are hotel rooms like in Florence, Italy?
There are a wide range of hotels in Florence. You can use sites like Venere.com to narrow down your choices: http://www.venere.com/italy/florence/ . The places I've stayed did not have particularly small beds, but I suspect they were a bit above your price range (e.g., Hotel Duomo). There are some hotels in Europe with fairly small beds in single rooms, but that isn't always so even with the cheaper places. The reviews on the Venere site and places like tripadvisor can help narrow down to something that suits you. Certainly, you won't be the only one visiting a boy/girl friend during the term. Your boyfriend can ask other students for recommendations too and find something that's conveniently located to where he is that's in your range. What are hotel rooms like in Florence, Italy?

Cellai Boutique Hotel is very nice and in the city centre.

Hi there, you're right in that few places in the world have hotel rooms the size of which you find in the states, however Italy certainly has some great places to stay. I'd recommend a website called Cheap Hotel Chains, it will allow you to search Florence, view the listed hotels (pics and info) and then click to book at the best price. Additionally, I'd recommend you check any of the hotels you like on Trip Advisor and see what other people say. Have a great time, Florence is a beautiful city!
Cheap budget hotels in Florence starts from around US $22.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
