Be at least 18 and have a credit cardHow old do you have to be in order to rent a hotel room and what do you absolutetly need?
You have to be at least 18, and most hotels require that you use a credit cart to secure the room (so they can charge you if there is damage to the room).
In most states the law is 18 years old. However, some hotels will not rent to someone under 21. Also, if they do rent to someone over 18 but under 21, they typically require that you have a credit card in your name. The only requirment though is that you have a form of payment up front whether it's cash or a credit card.
I worked in a Hotel for 4 years and they prefer that you be 21 and you can pay cash or credit.............. we did rent to 18 year olds but we mucst have a credit card and sometimes the rate was higher
Cash or a credit card, there might be some that require you to be 18 .
