Do hotels monitor what you do on the internet in the hotel room? And is downloading from Youtube illegal?

Im going to Melbourne on Monday and they have internet connection in the room so I can hook up my laptop to it. And I was wondering if they monitor what you do on the internet. But it doesn't really matter because 'I'm not going to do anything naughty or inappropriate!!! (HAHAHA)





And about the youtube downloading thing. Is it illegal to download music and standup comedy etc???Do hotels monitor what you do on the internet in the hotel room? And is downloading from Youtube illegal?
I don't think they monitor regularly, I'm sure they keep a log incase someone tries to tap into their own systems but as long as it isan't involving them in anything I'm sure ur ok. No I don't think its against the law to download stuff off youtube as long as u don't pass it around to other people.Do hotels monitor what you do on the internet in the hotel room?
