Im going to Melbourne on Monday and they have internet connection in the room so I can hook up my laptop to it. And I was wondering if they monitor what you do on the internet. But it doesn't really matter because 'I'm not going to do anything naughty or inappropriate!!! (HAHAHA)
And about the youtube downloading thing. Is it illegal to download music and standup comedy etc???Do hotels monitor what you do on the internet in the hotel room? And is downloading from Youtube illegal?
I don't think they monitor regularly, I'm sure they keep a log incase someone tries to tap into their own systems but as long as it isan't involving them in anything I'm sure ur ok. No I don't think its against the law to download stuff off youtube as long as u don't pass it around to other people.Do hotels monitor what you do on the internet in the hotel room? And is downloading from Youtube illegal?
Here's my best advice.
Try out EasyMovieConverter.com . It is a free online converter that is on the web page so there is nothing to install and is totally safe. It uses the HD versions of the Youtube videos, so you get a true 128kbps stereo and the highest video quality hands down. There are many options to boot such as mp3, video for windows, iPod, PSP, cell phones, and even MOV for mac.
Just a quick how-to to get up and using it fast:
1. Grab the link/website address to the video to convert from Youtube.
2. Go to http://www.EasyMovieConverter.com and enter the url on the text box on the main page.
3. Choose the type to convert it to.
4. Hit the download button. When it is converted, a button to proceed to the download page appears.
5. Download it, and enjoy.
If the Hotel is part of a major chain, they may very well have a system in place to monitor the internet. Also, with regard to downloading from youtube, that is questionable. Both of your questions are of a legal nature. Internet laws vary from country to country. I am assuming you are a U.S. Citizen traveling from the U.S. to Melbourne. Once you are there, check with the local authorities. If they can not answer your questions, check with either the U.S. Embassy or their Embassy. Internet Law is a relatively new field of law so this is the safest thing to do to keep yourself out of trouble in another country.
