Do hotel rooms have DVD players?
it depends on the hotel. if it's a higher end hotel, then usually. if it's a resort type place and there aren't any in the room, you can usually call the front end and request one. If it's a chain type hotel room, sometimes the tv has a built in dvd player on the side of it (sheraton does this, and a number of hilton hotels have this). Most lower-range hotels only have pay per view movies though... If in doubt, you can always call the hotel before you go and ask if the rooms come with dvd players or if one can be requested for the room. Generally though, your best bet is to buy a wire that connects an iPod or a laptop to a tv so that you're guaranteed to have movies.
Normally no. They expect you to buy their PPV/VOD offerings.

A premium suite may offer that luxury though.
